Every time I go to London I endeavour to see something new. This time I had business in London City and was really wondering what this place could offer a visitor apart from a lot of glass buildings.
Luckily, London surprised me again.
I found a hub of artistic activity right in the heart of the City – I spent the whole morning immersed in a colourful, beautiful, unexpected and shocking world of Jean Paul Gaultier at ‘The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk’ , an exhibition dedicated to the work of this celebrated French couturier in the Barbican centre (exhibition runs until 25th August 2014).
I hope I am not breaking any laws here by displaying my photos of J.P.Gaultier’s work…They do allow to take pictures, so I am quietly confident…..
Another interesting discovery in the City was misschu – a Vietnamese tuckshop with a great concept, friendly service, and really authentic tasting food. Would recommend it any day, I am going there again soon. They describe themselves as ‘as a modern day hawker takeaway with high end food at a low price tag’ and seem to be mainly into catering and takeway. Here’s the delicious meal I had:
So here’s to a great day in London City – a place that’s going to stay on my ‘worth visting’ list!
